Talk about love at first sight! On Valentine’s Day this adorable penguin chick hatched here at the Zoo and stole all of our hearts. Penguin parents Secunda (the second chick to ever hatch at the Columbus Zoo) and Watson are doing a great job raising their chick who was 84 grams at birth and is now more than 400 grams.

A Big Birthday shout out to our Humboldt penguin, Skipper who is 7 today! Skipper was hand reared by our keepers in 2005, as her parents were not providing her with enough food. She was successfully reintroduced to the group shortly after and has lived alongside her family at the zoo ever since. Here is her baby pic!
